Job Responsibilities

• Contributed to the development of a variety of medical devices, including the Remote Desktop Slit Lamp (RDSL), by applying diverse designing procedures for components to be manufactured using methods such as 3D Printing, CNC, Sheet Metal, Injection Moulding, and Sheet Plastic. Played a key role in advancing the device from the prototyping stage to full production, including the design of new parts and refinement of current parts for DFM (Design for Manufacturability).

• Created detailed part drawings and assembly drawings using SolidWorks for all the components and assemblies of RDSL, ensuring accuracy and compliance with specifications.

• Assembled complex medical devices, including the RDSL, to create Manufacturing Work Instructions (MWIs) for streamlined production processes.

• Developed the nomenclature system for parts numbering, ensuring consistency and clarity in part identification across multiple projects.

• Organised CAD libraries, templates, and project files to ensure design consistency across different medical devices.

• Generated detailed Component Specification Sheets (CSS) for Off-The-Shelf (OTS) components, providing alternative solutions when required, across various medical devices.

• Established and maintained comprehensive Part Number Databases and Bills of Materials (BoM) specific to each device, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for manufacturing purposes.

• Produced detailed Manufacturing Data pack for sub-contractor, facilitating the manufacturing of medical devices.

• Utilised rapid prototyping equipment to produce custom parts, supporting the Research and Development (R&D) Team in enhancing various medical devices.
